Langue de Barbarie National Park (near Saint-Louis): this is a thin and sandy peninsula that faces the Atlantic Ocean and is only 17 km away. south of the French colonial city of Saint-Louis (which receives its French name “Berber Language” from the Arabs who once traded there, and currently attracts a variety of bird species, including flamingos. There is a lighthouse nearby (lighthouse of Gandiol), where visitors can rent small boats (canoes) for a nominal fee (around US $ 20 for a boat for two people).
