Guembeul Reserve

Guembeul Reserve – this natural reserve consists of over 720 hectares of saline lagoon, mangrove wetlands, and savannah woodland. Towards the entrance to the Reserve is a small museum which gives visitors an overview of its flora and fauna. Animal life here is varied – including wild boars, patas monkeys, desert hedgehogs, gerbils, porcupines, and turtles. There are also certain endangered animals here, such as the dama gazelle and the scimitar oryx. Admission: CFA 2,000 (general). Hours: 8 am – 6 pm (daily).
