Gandiol (near Saint-Louis) – this is a seaside region near the French colonial town of Saint-Louis. With farming and fishing being among the major economic activities in this part of Senegal, the tourist-friendly sites here include the Guembeul Reserve (where animals such as turtles, gazelles, red monkeys, and oryx are found), and the Langue de Barbarie National Park.
